Camila Reed

CoFounder/Managing Director

Camila Reed is a communications and digital media consultant working globally in English and Spanish. She has experience as a journalist and senior editor in text and TV within Reuters, as well as the BBC World Service and magazines. She has experience in front of, and behind the camera, and has been involved in product launches and developing digital content for clients in the legal and financial sectors. She trains business professionals and journalists around the globe to get their message across effectively and efficiently. She has created bespoke communications programmes for companies like Tetra Pak, using the latest teaching techniques incorporating online, classroom and blended learning methods. Camila has significant management experience and has also been involved with a number of initiatives for women’s advancement in the workplace, including flexible working, diversity and gender pay parity. She’s also created and taken part in mentoring programmes and manages campaigns for women's organisations like International Women in Mining.

 

Sarah Wachter

CoFounder/Managing Director

Sarah has consulted for UN Women, UNESCO, the United Nations Environmental Programme, UNSSC, global NGOs, the African Development Bank and many other international organisations. She regularly media trains emerging leaders in the UN system, and has trained women members of parliament, women policymakers and government officials. She was senior communications adviser to the Gender Envoy of the African Development Bank, where she wrote speeches, blogs, and created a magazine on gender equality, and produced a photography series on the women leading Liberia’s recovery from Ebola. She has also media trained business executives and journalists in Europe, North America, Africa and the Middle East. Her corporate clients include Shell and Total, where she served as press officer to the CEO and Management Board. A former business journalist with Associated Press-Dow Jones Newswires, where she reported for CNBC and The Wall Street Journal, Sarah’s work has also appeared in The New York Times and the Economist. She has produced TV programmes for the BBC, Time-Warner, and Conde Nast. A native English speaker, she is also fluent in French and conversant in Arabic.

Anne Senior

Trainer & Leadership Coach

Anne Senior is a trainer and leadership coach with three decades of experience in the news and information business, gained on assignments in Europe, Asia and the United States. She is skilled at managing teams across cultures and was active in shaping diversity strategy at Thomson Reuters. She combines experience as a senior manager for a global brand with a professional grasp of latest training theory and practice, being certified as a learning & development specialist by the UK’s Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). As a training specialist Anne can offer learning consultancy, talent management, elearning, webinar and workshop training formats, having introduced technology-assisted blended learning as head of training for the editorial division of Thomson Reuters. Her training qualifications include a Certificate in Learning and Development Practice and a Level 5 Award in Human Resources Development from the CIPD. Anne is a visiting lecturer at City University, London.

Sara El Khalili

Media Trainer, Researcher, Consultant

Sara El-Khalili is a media trainer, researcher and consultant with more than 15 years of experience in the journalism and mass communication fields. She has trained hundreds of journalists and communications professionals with institutions, including the Thomson Reuters Foundation, the independent Union of Media Women in Egypt and The American University in Cairo, where she was an adjunct professor of Journalism and Mass Communication. She is the former Managing Editor of the AUC Business Review. As a research consultant, Sara designs methodology and coding metrics to monitor and evaluate media content. She's taken part in several media research studies, and is the author of the Agenda-Setting Impact of Egyptian Nightly Television Talk Shows on Attitudes Towards Civic Engagement. She aspires to make significant contributions to humanitarian causes, women empowerment and education through media development.

Joelle Bassoul

Media & Communications Expert

Joelle Bassoul is a media and communication expert with 17 years of experience in the Middle East, North and East Africa, and Europe. She started her career as an international news wire reporter, covering the war in Iraq, the Darfur and Israeli-Palestinian conflicts. She then held positions at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and the Earth Institute at Columbia University where she focused on environment and sustainable development issues. She also woked as a media and communication consultant with the Thomson Reuters Foundation, delivering training to senior UN staff, journalists, and experts. Since 2014, she is Oxfam’s media advisor for the Syria crisis.

Heba Kandil

Media & Communication Specialist

Heba Kandil is a Media & Communication Specialist, helping clients find and express their signature voice effectively to excel in the workplace and emerge as more confident, self-fulfilled and inspirational leaders. With over 15 years of communications experience as well as life coaching, Heba combines soul-centered techniques with powerful writing/speaking tools to help professionals melt any limiting beliefs and gain confidence to perfect their written and spoken word by crafting magnetic messaging, public speeches, conducting interviews and everyday communication that creates impact. She works in Arabic and English and has worked as a journalist, editor, spokesperson and journalism & media trainer for leading organisations including Reuters, Thomson Reuters Foundation, and the UN World Food Programme. Heba consults and delivers media & communication training to journalists, communications officers and corporate/government officials in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa including: UAE interior ministry officials; Visa business managers; and Tetrapak communication managers. She holds an M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication and a B.A. in International Relations from the American University in Cairo and is a Certified Martha Beck Life Coach. 

May Alem

Coach & Media Trainer

May Alem is a coach and media trainer, who was a senior journalist and TV news presenter in the Middle East and the Gulf with 17 years of experience. She has coached CEOs and management board executives for media interviews, public speaking and public performance, working with the UAE Ministry of Interior, and high-level officials for many government agencies in Abu Dhabi, and women parliamentarians in Iraqi Kurdistan. As a journalist, she was a presenter and editor of political affairs talks shows, and covered Arab and Gulf summits and many major news events in the region. She has interviewed heads of state, prime ministers, and ministers of foreign affairs. She has prepared and presented many fundraising telethons during times of crisis, and was a presenter and editor of a morning show on Abu Dhabi TV. She holds a bachelors degree from American University in Lebanon and trains in Arabic, French and English.

Mathieu Robbins

Consultant & Trainer - Journalism and Communications

Mathieu Robbins has over six years experience running journalism and communication workshops for professional reporters and spokespeople. He trained over a dozen female Zimbabwean journalists in how to cover economics and finance, as part of a women’s empowerment programme funded by the U.S. State Department. His clients have included the Thomson Reuters Foundation and Ogilvy PR, and projects funded by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the United Nations, and the International Monetary Fund. When not on workshops, Mathieu is a stay-at-home dad with a working partner. He has over a decade’s experience as a business and financial journalist for Bloomberg, Reuters, and the UK’s Independent newspaper. His workshops focus on interactively and engagingly teaching how to understand subject-matter and present it clearly, fairly and objectively, and he also shows clients how to deal with new technologies, management and communication tools. He’s worked in many countries, including Morocco, China, Myanmar, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Cote d'Ivoire, Paraguay and Fiji, and trains in English, French, Italian and Spanish.

Zoe Eisenstein

Communications Consultant, Editor, Researcher

Zoe Eisenstein is a journalist, editor, researcher and communications consultant with 20 years experience in news and information and a unique expertise in Lusophone Africa. She was the Reuters correspondent in Angola for five years and has reported from across Africa and Europe for many media outlets including the BBC, Radio France Internationale and Associated Press, working in both radio and print. Now based in London, she also works as a media and journalism trainer in Portugese, French and English, supporting a range of clients including media organisations and the United Nations.

Gabi Matthews

Communications Expert West Africa

Gabriela Matthews is a former international news reporter, TV producer and regional editor for more than 20 years, and covered all major news stories in West and Central Africa for Reuters TV from Dakar, Senegal.  Gabriela is a champion of women’s rights and issues in West Africa, and has extensively covered women’s issues in Mauritania and the region. She trains women in journalism, camera work and operating in conflict zones. For the last four years, Gabriela has devised and run workshops in Africa and around the world of communications, dealing with the media in crisis situations, as well as helping NGO personnel to develop TV interviewing skills. Gabriela has trained for the United Nations, the Thomson Reuters Foundation, Save the Children, and OSIWA. Gabriela has also worked for the Reuters News Agency in London, CNN International, ITN, and Sky News.

Eithne Treanor

Communications Trainer, Presenter, Moderator 

Eithne Treanor empowers business executives, political leaders and professionals to sharpen their message and reach their audience. She has a clear understanding of the sensitivities and challenges of corporates and government and the demands from media. Based in the United Arab Emirates, she is CNBC Arabia’s Special Consultant. She is also an experienced presenter and web-cast moderator and has conducted hundreds of presentations, media and panel training sessions for high-level executives around the world. She was the keynote speaker at Saudi Aramco’s Women in the Workforce Forum 2017.  Eithne worked as an international journalist for ABC News, Sky News, BBC World and CNBC Europe and was instrumental in setting up Bloomberg TV in Europe.  She has moderated many prestigious international conferences with a specialty in energy, economics and leadership. Her communication training clients have included OPEC, BP, Pepsico, ADNOC and Siemens.
